CALDWELL — A driver charged in the death of his passenger — who was hit and killed by a police vehicle during a pursuit — pleaded guilty Wednesday to vehicular manslaughter.
Joe Nevarez has been incarcerated on multiple charges in the Canyon County jail since Feb. 13, 2018, the day of the police chase. During the pursuit, Nevarez’s passenger, 36-year-old Georgia Carrera, fell from the van and was fatally struck by a Nampa police car.
On Wednesday, Nevarez also pleaded guilty to eluding an officer and possession of a controlled substance.
