Five In Custody After Merritt Parkway Stolen Car Chase With Two Crashes

The incident started around 1 a.m. Friday when the Westport Police Department were called to the area of Hills Point Road for the report of a suspicious vehicle.

Police discovered a black-colored Audi and determined it was stolen, the vehicle then took off and engaged police was in a pursuit in the town of Westport and got onto the Merritt Parkway northbound at Exit 41, said the Connecticut State Police.

The stolen vehicle collided with another vehicle in the area of Exit 42, then continued northbound until the car slammed into a wooden beam guardrail in the area of Exit 48, state police said.
